Saffron Yellow Rice

Cooking Directions - On the Stove
For the 5 oz. rice mix: Bring 1-2/3 cups of water and 1 tablespoon margarine (for more authentic flavor - use 1 tablespoon olive oil instead of margarine) to a boil in a medium saucepan. Stir in rice mix. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Fluff lightly with fork and serve.
Are you preparing the 10 oz. or 16 oz. rice mix on the stove?: For the 10 oz. package, be sure to use 3-1/2 cups of water and prepare as noted. Or, for the 16 oz. package, use 5-1/3 cups of water and prepare as noted.

Cooking Directions - In the Microwave
For the 5 oz. rice mix: In a 1-1/2 quart microwave safe dish, combine 1-2/3 cups hot water, 1 tablespoon margarine (for more authentic flavor - use 1 tablespoon olive oil instead of margarine), and rice mix. Cover and microwave on HIGH for 3 minutes. Reduce setting to 50% power and microwave for 17 minutes. Fluff lightly with fork and serve. If your microwave does not have variable power settings, follow your manufacturer's directions.

For the 10 oz. package, be sure to use a 3 quart microwave safe dish with 3 cups of hot water and prepare
as noted. With the 16 oz. package, we do not recommend preparing in the microwave, please refer to the 'on the stove' directions above.
