Cooking Directions
In a large saucepan add rice mixes, water, oil, onion and sausage. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in shrimp, peas and green onions. Cover and let stand 5 minutes. Serve garnished with pepper strips, if desired.
Recipe Tip: For a more authentic dish, substitute Spanish chorizo for sausage.
Rice Cooker Version: Combine all ingredients, except shrimp, peas, green onions and peppers in a rice cooker. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for white rice. When cooking cycle is finished, stir in shrimp, peas and green onions. Close lid and let stand 5 minutes. Served garnished with peppers, if desired.
