Prepare rice as per package directions.
In a medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, heavy cream and butter. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. Boil until slightly thickened, about 2 minutes. Stir in pecans and cooked rice. Remove from heat and blend in bananas and rum.
Serve warm pudding topped with ground cinnamon and ice cream, if desired..
